About me
Growing up in San Francisco, I was the kind of kid whose idea of fun was reading dictionaries and encyclopedias (we had five sets in the house). Later, in my twenties, I decided to experience the world in a more direct way, and I worked on organic farms for many years (I developed some REALLY innovative kale recipes). Eventually, I went back to academia and studied soil science and agronomy at Cornell and the University of Maryland. Currently a professional agronomist, I also have tried my hand at "citizen journalism," and have reported on my exploits as one of the first bloggers in the White House briefing room at the group newsblog I contribute to, BTC News.
